These projects tackle pressing issues like climate change, mass migration, urban density, and the meaning of belonging in today’s world.&nbsp; For this year’s exhibition, the design identity revolved around five central themes: Rising Tides, In Pursuit of Home, Slow Down, Urban Collages, and The Responsive City. Each theme was visually represented by a distinct geometric shape, all interconnected through a dotted line. This graphic element remained consistent throughout the identity, creating a minimalistic visual language that allowed the exhibited works to take center stage while subtly uniting them within one cohesive system. The exhibition was held in the Orange Hall at TU Delft, designed by MVRDV. To create a striking contrast with the hall’s vivid interior, a light mint color was chosen as the primary accent. Since the beginning of 2011, with the beginning of the “Arab Spring”, Monika Huber (*1959) has been creating a digital archive of news images – the Archive OneThirty.It documents the worldwide political and social change in its media reflection and pictorial narrative construction. Designed as a long-term documentation, it currently includes around 40,000 photographs. Huber reworks these images, edits them by painting or drawing over them. The artist takes up the images that are usually lost in the daily flood of news in order to make them visible, tangible and reflective through editing. The media images she selects repeatedly show people as protesting and rebellious actors, as subjects and objects of public, political, often violent and warlike events.A selection of these news images can be found in the publication, together with essays and texts from Mieke Bal, Ulrich Wilmes, James W. The cover design is based on a flexible visual system which visualises the fluid connections between individual and collective actors within the academy. The catalogue is supplemented with a “Community Glossary” which helps readers to navigate the more than 200 projects. Each graduate was asked to share three words that describe their project, with the possibility to also use non-English words and expressions. It therefore also works as an infographic, as the reader can see how many graduates chose the same or similar words and how these terms are reflected in their project. Additionally, graduates were given the opportunity to add pronouns, non-Latin alphabet names, and their personal definitions of their professions on their catalog spreads.
