The project ‘Video Walk’ is an interactive video installation in the Olympia Park in Munich, Germany. To take part, the participants only need their smartphone and headphones, with which the participants have to walk a certain way up to the Olympia mountain. As soon as the video starts on the smartphone, an alternative world opens up for the participant in which past and present merge together. This process is also described as physical cinema. The participants walk through the post-war period in Munich, are reminded of the terrorist attack at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, are informed about the architectural buildings, and also get an insight into temporary art actions on the site. The footage is combined with music and recorded sound.
