The FORMAT is a magazine run by students of the University of Applied Sciences in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. Every semester a new magazine with a different leading theme is designed and released. The leading theme of the FORMAT 19 was ‘mirror’ and dealt with topics around self-perception and perception of others. Photos, illustrations, essays, interviews and student projects were used to approach this theme. The cover with the mirror foil allowed the viewer to be integrated into the subject matter of the book.
